The story starts with two people: gruvmann and amyrific.
We met as younglings- I, being a fresh-faced 18 year old and he- a slightly less fresh-faced 20 year old. Drama ensued for many years, which is to be expected when you have two very different personalities and ways of working out life. Eventually, we came to understand that love has a propensity to reach across divides and bring people together- and it certainly did that for us.
We married at 22 & 23, and have been happily together for 12 years. Yes…I’m aware that those of you who don’t know us may be thinking, “What? She can’t be a day over 22 now!” (Just add 10+years) Well, my friends, I have my mom to thank for those genes… and the gruvmann keeps me young- what can I say? *wink*
6 years ago, the most lovely little person came into the world- our sweet Nyah. Seriously people, she’s something special. Among her many wonderful personality traits, the thing I love most about her is that she really lives up to her name: “beautiful, light, purpose.” She is a constant wonder to us- full of light, love & beauty, and teaches me so much on a daily basis.
The pull of adoption was so strong for me that after I had our daughter in 2004, I knew adoption would be the next step for our family. Matt (aka gruvmann) agreed. It’s hard to put to words, but adoption has always been a deep, resonant part of our hearts, and something we knew one day we’d be giving a lot of ourselves to. We’ve been praying, waiting, and excited about this time in our lives for many years. Our deepest hope beyond our own first adoption is to use our gifts and passions to extend help to others in need. It would bring the greatest joy to our family for Four Leaf Love to bloom into a reservoir of provision, hope and an outpouring of love for orphans and others in need.
We walk into this season expectant, knowing that God’s heart for his children is more than we can ever attempt to convey. It’s powerful, moving, breathtaking- and personal. I hope more than anything when you walk away from us here at Four Leaf Love, you’ll feel inspired, and brimming with hope. Like those who dream.
Thank you for being here. With much love, sincerity and joy-
Matt, Amy and Nyah Stanfield
